April is National Heartworm Prevention Month! For the month of April, we are offering a complimentary heartworm antigen test for dogs and a discounted antibody test for cats. We provide veterinary preventative medication for around $15/month.
Heartworms are spread through mosquito bites. Mosquitoes transmit heartworm larvae to dogs and cats which develop into adult heartworms.
We recommend monthly protection for your inside and outdoor pets as it’s almost impossible to prevent mosquitoes from entering your home. A single bite from an infected mosquito can result in transmission which requires hospital care and/or medical treatment.
Don’t worry! Humans aren’t susceptible to heartworms and we have Advantage Multi (imidacloprid + moxidectin) to help you protect your pets!
