National Check the Chip Day
What to Do If Your Pet Has a Microchip
The following are a few things you can do if your pet has a microchip:
- Check your pet’s registration information in the microchip manufacturer’s database to make sure all contact information accurate and current. You will need to contact the manufacturer of your pet’s microchip directly to do this. You will also need to provide your pet’s microchip number.
- If you don’t know the manufacturer of your pet’s microchip, AAHA’s Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool can help. This application links to registries of the majority of microchip manufacturers. It allows a quick database search of any microchip made by these manufacturers. Therefore, you just need to enter your pet’s microchip number and the application will generate the name of the manufacturer.
