August 15 National Check the Chip Day. Statistics show that approximately 10 million dogs and cats find themselves lost each year. Many companion animals now have happy reunions with those they love thanks to microchipping. However, the implant can only be of help if the information it contains is current. As a remind to get your canine or feline companion microchipped and to keep the data up-to-date, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) have teamed up to create National Check the Chip Day.
